2024 summer Camps

AMERICAN GIRL DOLL CAMP WITH MRS. CHRISTAL

SESSION: JUNE 24-27 (4 days, Monday-Thursday)
TIME: 1:30PM – 4:30PM
GRADES: Students entering K – grade 5
COST: $295 per child
LOCATION: @ The Field House, 107 Seminary Avenue, Chester, NJ

She was an American Girl…travel back in time to a different period in history to learn how young girls like you lived! You and your daily guest (your American Girl doll or other doll of your choice) will explore foods, crafts, dance, games, and fashion together. Campers will have endless fun while learning about history, culture, and character through the lens of a famous American Girl.

*Daily snacks will be provided. Please bring a drink.

About The Teacher: Jennifer Christal has been an educator in the Chester School District for 22 years. Not only does she love her job, but she loves history! Having watched her daughter (who is now 17) grow up playing with her American Girl dolls she decided to create an experience where kids can develop a love of learning history while having fun! IMAGINATION CREATION CAMP WITH MRS. MILLER

TIME: 9AM-12PM
GRADE: Entering kindergarten through fourth grade for the 2024-2025 school year
COST: $290/child for 1 week session

Are you looking to have tons of fun this summer? Do you like SUPER COOL science experiments, activities, crafts, projects and using your imagination? Do you like making things EXPLODE? Do you like using your hands and getting MESSY? If you answered yes, you should attend Mrs. Miller’s Imagination Creation Camp! We will do lots of fabulous and exciting science experiments, projects, activities and crafts, such as: slime, tie dye t-shirts, walking water experiments, erupting soda & Mentos geysers (which soda makes the highest geyser?), Skittles science experiments, rainbow density jars, cloud dough monsters, lava lamps, iSpy bottles, exploding volcanoes, homemade playdough, marshmallow creations, rainbow bubbles, magic snow storm in a jar, monster bag explosions (don’t worry, we wear safety goggles!) and so much more!

­­What to bring to camp: art smock, water, peanut free and tree nut free snack. Art smock will go home the last day of camp. Confident Kids

CONFIDENT KIDS CAMP 101 WITH MRS. DIFABRIZIO

DATES: July 8 – July 12, 2024 (Monday-Friday)
TIME: 1pm – 4pm
COST: $295 per camper
GRADE: Students entering grades 3, 4 & 5 in the 2024-2025 school year
LOCATION: The Field House, 107 Seminary Avenue, Chester, NJ

Hey kids! You’re invited to join Mrs. DiFabrizio to have some fun while at Confident Kids Camp 101! You’ll enjoy different activities such as role-playing friendship scenarios, listening to stories, engaging in team-building activities, playing games, creating calming jars and stress balls, painting, making unique art, and much more! You’ll also learn and practice skills that are necessary to have healthy friendships, all while building your own self-confidence and inner strength. Please bring daily: a drink & a nut-free snack. If possible, please bring two recycled plastic jars with lids for craft projects (between 4 & 8 inches tall would work best). ENGINEERING & ROBOTICS SUMMER CAMP WITH WIZE COMPUTING ACADEMY

Dates: July 22 – July 26 (5 days, Monday-Friday)

Calling all engineers of tomorrow! Would you like to make your own robots? Join us in learning how to plan, build, program, and debug them. We’ll teach you how to do so and put them to the test. Start your adventures in STEM today!

Each day will include a combination of “plugged” and “unplugged” time, minimizing the time your child spends in front of a screen. While all classroom equipment and supplies will be provided, children are encouraged to be creative if they wish to add any personal touches from home to their bots. KREATIVE KIDS WITH LORI VILAGOS SUMMER ART CAMP

DATES: July 29 – August 2 (Monday-Friday)
TIME: 9am-12pm

This is just the program for the young artist who loves to experiment, explore, and create to their imaginations delight! During these artsy experiences, we will let the young artist’s imagination go wild and push the limits of their creative thinking skills! They will break open the paints and pastels alongside all the maker space materials to explore and experiment all through our summer camp. Themed art projects will be made and campers will explore their unique ideas with a professional artist and art teacher’s guidance. Included with art camp will also be fun nature walks and playful party time!
Additional Art Camp Info:
– Students should wear sunscreen, bring a snack, & water bottle.
– Comfortable clothing that is okay to get messy is highly suggested.
– Sneakers or closed toe shoes are recommended.

Art Teacher Bio: 
Your resident artist and camp instructor, Mx. Lori Vilagos (she/her&they/them), has been the art teacher at Bragg School going on 20 years. Additionally, Mx. V has two children of their own, and is a local fine artist. Mx. V specializes in drawing and painting, capturing moments when nature and the human experience intersect. Her artwork has been commissioned, and displayed at various galleries and showcases in the northern NJ area. As a teacher, Mx. V’s philosophies include allowing the student choice, and giving them space to think and behave as an artist. Therefore, the classroom space is the studio, and they center all instruction on the young artist learning to find their voice and think as an artist.

ROBOT PETTING ZOO WITH WIZE COMPUTING ACADEMY

How would you like to make your own zoo animals? Would you like to combine the worlds of art and science? Come participate in a “makeathon” to create a robotic pet to delight and inspire visitors to your very own petting zoo. Construct your pet from familiar materials such as cardboard and craft supplies, then use robotic components and programming to bring your creations to life.

TWEENS & TEENS CREATE WITH LORI VILAGOS SUMMER ART CAMP

DATES: August 5-9, 2024 (Monday-Friday)
TIME: 9AM-12PM
COST: $295 per student
AGES: 10-13 years old

Give your teens and tweens the chance to explore building and thinking like a contemporary artist! This art camp is for kids who not only enjoy drawing and painting, but also building! Let the summer sunshine on your child as we paint or draw outside, collect nature for art making, build and paint. Students will receive plein air observational drawing lessons and will learn how to respectfully use nature in their art! Some modes of art making include paper pulp, paper mache’, armature sculptures, graphite and paint will be experienced. Tips on planning for 3D works and building techniques will be stressed, but the student will most definitely be the artist!

YOGA FOR EVERYBODY WITH KATHLEEN MARGIOTTA

Tuesday evenings July 9 – August 13

Yoga For EveryBody is a program designed to meet the needs of all class participants. The program was created by Kathleen Margiotta, a traditionally trained yogini with 20+ years of teaching experience. Yoga For EveryBody fosters strength, flexibility, and balance, as well as to promote a sense of well-being and accomplishment. Classes focus on the needs of the individual within a non-competitive group setting. This program is based on the Hatha Yoga tradition and incorporates Vinyasa flow poses and meditation.
